| Why: |
Field investigations, laboratory test programs and engineering analyses generate a significant amount of data. A project can quickly be overwhelmed by this volume if care is not taken to standardise and control the quality of the data; however, adopting an inflexible regime limits a project’s ability to evolve. Access to data after its collection is also a major concern. Decisions can be delayed if the most up-to-date data is not immediately available to the right people in a centralised location. This presentation will demonstrate simple solutions for these complex issues, including validating data on entry, standardising within or across projects, quality control of lab results, and centralising data to ensure only the most recent is always available to the right people. |
