Gemcom InSite™ Overview

InSite manages the processes that drive operational performance through the mining value chain. Improving productivity, reducing production losses, and controlling costs, InSite increases profitability. InSite consolidates and validates information from operational systems in near real time, enabling more timely decisions in response to changing conditions and helping to ensure production contracts are honoured.

Managers use the system to stay informed with production, equipment, and personnel performance metrics and to back up new capital expenditures with hard data. “The system is essential to the effective management of the movement of our staff and contractors to and from site. We can confidently manage our aircraft and camp capacities during peak periods such as shutdowns. We have a single source of data for managing our logistics and camp contractors, and our evacuation lists are always accurate. We always know where everybody is.” says Rose Dowling, Facilities Officer – Site Services, Murrin Murrin Operations, Minara Resources Limited.

The InSite Human Logistics module is an accommodation, travel management and site access system designed to support the administration of geographically distributed operations and personnel movements to and from them. By deploying the system remote operations can lower costs, boost productivity and increase efficiency. They achieve this by eliminating and streamlining clerical and accounting tasks and improving access to logistics information worldwide.

Originally developed for fly-in, fly-out mining operations in the Western Australian desert, the Human Logistics module is used by companies all over the world, including at remote locations in Africa and northern Canada. It can be implemented as part of a larger InSite implementation or as a stand-alone system, and optionally integrated with EAM/ERP packages such as SAP, Oracle and Ellipse.
