Geology and Mine Planning for Stratified Deposits

Short Term Planning

Minex provides a fast and powerful set of short term planning tools to provide timely and accurate mining solutions.

Minex Short Term Mine Planning tools include;

Survey Data Reduction

The Open Pit Survey module is a comprehensive surface modeling and survey pickup package for mining and quarry operations.

  • Full integration with all other Minex modules eliminates the need for copying and re-creating plans for geology and mine planning.
  • All technical staff have immediate access to the latest working faces as surveyed
  • Surveyors have instant access to the latest mine design for set-up and updating
  • Interface with GPS instruments to quickly download from the field or upload for peg out.

Blast Pattern Layout

The Minex Blast Pattern Setout module allows engineers to quickly and easily design blasts in 3D.

  • Project holes from the current mine topography to a coal seam, a depth or an elevation
  • Avoid coal damage with a standard or variable seam standoff
  • Holes can be designed, dragged, extended or deleted individually, or by row, pattern or polygon
  • Easily accommodate details, such as front row locations, back row stub or pre-split
  • Upload holes to equipment for GPS drilling control

Road and Ramp Design

Minex Road Design allows you to design a road on any existing mine topography.

  • Simply digitize a centerline, then offset to create the curbs and slopes stakes
  • Road Design automatically allows for cut or fill projections
  • Patch roads into existing surfaces
  • Upload curbs or slopes to a survey instrument for field pegging

Dump Design

Minex Maximum Spoil and Drag Spoil quickly and easily create and patch dumps into existing surfaces.

  • Build Maximum Spoil dumps up from a toe polygon to an elevation, a design surface (such as a permitted limit), or until a desired volume is achieved.
  • Vary wall slopes along the toe to allow the active working face to have different slopes to the final or rehabilitated spoil wall slopes
  • Quickly balance the waste volume to your mining scheduled volumes
  • Design dragline dumps down from a crest string to the final dump shape

Cross Section Rehabilitation

The Minex Cross Section Rehabilitation tool makes the complex task of dozing down a truck shovel dump to form a final rehabilitation surface simple.

  • Quickly and easily generate rehabilitation sections along a dump toe
  • Automatically balances the volume of cut and fill at each section
  • Apply a bulking factor where the cut material needs to swell
  • Use the balanced sections to form and view the rehabilitated surface

Spoil Reshaping

Minex Spoil Reshaping smoothes dump peaks and troughs into a final landform using the Minex Linear Programming (LP) method.

  • Using a gridded model of the dump the software minimises dozing while meeting elevation and slope restraints
  • Outputs include a final landform and a set of dozer push arrows
  • Upload push arrows to the dozer to inform the operator of the volume and direction to push
  • Achieve significant cost savings in both landform design and dozer hours
